Dr. Anita Shack

Anita Shack B.F.A, D.C, integrates her extensive knowledge of healing disciplines to create a deeper connection for her patients. Dr. Shack has been in private practice since 1986 and is one of the few chiropractors working at a hospital setting in Canada. She received her Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (1986), her BFA in Dance from York University (1979), and graduated from the Academy of Traditional Acupuncture (1997). She has been working at The Al & Malka Green Artists’ Health Centre, Toronto Western Hospital (UHN) since 2005.

Dr. Shack performed as an independent modern dancer/choreographer from 1974-1986 in Canada and the US. It is her background as a professional modern dancer that has led to her fascination with the flow of movement and energy through the body. Additionally, she is a long time student of ancient and earth based healing paradigms including Indigenous, and Kabalistic systems since 1989. All of this experience serves to inform her work as a chiropractor and integrative healer.

Dr. Shack is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Chiropractic Associations as well as the Performing Arts Medicine Association. Additionally she has presented at conferences worldwide, appeared on the Life Network, and attracts an international clientele.
